Week 4 of 5

Monday: 4.3 miles in 57 minutes.

Tuesday: 4.6 miles in 59 minutes. Felt good. Plus my goal is to do 5 in less than an hour, getting closer!

Wednesday: rest

Thursday: 3.5 miles. I think it was 42 minutes!??!

Friday: rest

Saturday: moving and packing .... does that count?

Sunday: again moving and packing, but I did do 3 miles in 37.5 minutes.

I was a little disappointed I didn't get a longer run in, but the training plan I am following did have a lower mileage week thrown in. So, win-win?

Total for the week: 15.4 miles

Total after week 4: 68.4 miles

I will reach my minimum goal of 75 miles no problem. The question is how far over will I go?

Week 3 of 5

Another week. Another 18.1 miles. Still on track to SURPASS the goal I set for myself!

Monday: 4.3 miles
Tuesday: 3.5 miles (with 20 minutes of park time in the middle!)

These two runs felt hard. My legs were heavy. I just had a hard time feeling in the groove. But I finished them, and surprisingly my times weren't as slow as I was expecting. Win, win I'd say!

Wednesday: bilked about 7.5 miles

Thursday: 4.3 miles. This one felt a little better!

Friday: rest

Saturday: 6 miles, which felt really good actually. The only disappointing factor was not meeting the time goal I had set for myself. Missed it by about 5 minutes, but did barely squeek a faster time than when I had the stroller with last week ;)

Sunday: rest

So, total mileage after week 3: 53/80

Not bad; not bad at all!

Week 2 of 5

Another great week!

Monday: felt good, but still slower than I was hoping. Because this route has been routinely slower than I felt it should be, when I got home I used mapmyrun.com to re-map it out. Lo and behold I was off by a half a mile! I know exactly where I messed up the calculation too. So now that that is squared away ... 4 miles done.

Tuesday: rest

Wednesday: did 3.8 miles in roughly 48 minutes.

Thursday: After celebrating a birthday with pizza, cake, and ice cream ... I headed out for another 4-miler! Got to go by myself since A was playing with cousins. I am having a hard time keeping the details straight, but I think I finished around 52 minutes?? Either way, I felt great.

Friday: rest

Saturday: it was just A and I that morning, so I packed some snacks and off we went. One of my longest runs to date. I finished 6 miles, and did it in just over 80 minutes,

Sunday: went for a bike tide!! Finished about 6.5 miles. So.nice to switch it up and still burn some calories!

Total: 17.8 miles, plus 6.5 on the bike!

Grand total: 34.9 in 2 weeks.

Week 1 of 5

Last week I set a goal to run 75-80 miles over five weeks (April 30 - June 2).

After week 1, I am well on my way to reaching that goal.

Monday: I set out and did 3.5 - it was not my best run. I actually felt pretty good; just ran slow. No matter how disappointed I was with the time, I was glad I finished. My biggest reason for setting this goal is to maintain consistency.

Tuesday: Rest

Wednesday: After double- and triple-checking the radar, I set out for a planned 2.8 miler. I was feeling great, and ended up going an extra mile! Even after 3.8, I was feeling good! (hot, but good! I couldn't help but ask myself how we get through July when it felt hot on May2!)

Thursday: I left work early due to another threat of rain and storms. So when I got home, I had to finish some paper work. Of course it took longer than expected, but I decided I wasn't going to let that stop me. Though later than I normally head out, I went. I was going to allow myself to go a mile shorter than the planned 4.3 since I went an extra mile the night before, but at my turn around decided I had it in me. 4.3 completed.

Friday: Rest. I was going to plan a bike ride, but found out my bike is not yet ready. The tires are flat and the air compressor is at the house we will be living in. Just a little inconvenient. It didn't really matter though, because we were in and out of both thunderstorm and tornado warnings all evening!

Saturday: A cloudy, cool morning turned into a rainy, stormy afternoon; which eventually led to an absolutely beautiful evening. Around 5, I got changed, laced up the shoes and headed out. I walked my normal warm-up with the dear hubby and baby. I then went on my own. The family walk would have been nice, but I wanted to get my miles in! I don't know if it was the lack of stroller in tow or just pure luck, but I ran with an extra bounce it my step. I felt good the entire way, and finished 5 minutes faster than my normal time for that route. 5.5 miles ... check plus! Love feeling that way after a run.

Sunday: I thought about just getting a few extra, easy miles in today just for fun. But did some painting, cleaning, and laundry instead.

Regardless, at the end of week 1; I completed 17.1 out of 16.1 planned miles :)

Minus some occasional slight discomfort in my shins, I couldn't be feeling better!
