A week in to the new month already .....
Monday: I had five miles on the agenda, but found out Chad came home sick at 8:30 in the morning. It wouldn't have been worth the grumbles to try and go out. Instead, I hung out with Ava and we tried to let Daddy get some rest.
Tuesday: Chad was home sick again, so instead of trying to make up yesterdays run, I took Ava with me on a bike ride. 9.25 miles in 55 minutes we biked. After a disappointing start to the month on Monday, I wasn't going to complain about that.
Wednesday: With Chad feeling a bit better, I did head out on a run. I even took a semi-new route to try to avoid a case of the running blues. I ended up with 5.25 miles in 60 minutes. The run felt great!
Thursday: It was a bit blustery. I can tell you, I am not ready for winter. Regardless, I wasn't going to let cooler temperatures and wind (boy, it was windy) stop me. I needed to get the month off to a good start! I did approximately 4 miles of speed intervals. It had been a few weeks since I had done some intervals, and I was just as impressed as last time. I finished 3- half mile repeats in 4:45, 4:25, and 4:45. I walked 1/4 mile after each one. With the 1 mile warm-up and a .79 mile cool-down, it was a good effort! Feels good to push the pace!
Friday: rest
Saturday: was so hoping to get out in the morning for a long run. I slept until almost 7:30, and knew the overnight low had been cold! I just wasn't willing to do it. Plus we left for a wedding in the Twin Cities, and had I gone for a run, we would've been running late! I did do some dancing with my 2 year old dancing queen ... does that count?
Sunday: We got home from the wedding extravaganza just before the Packer game. Turns out I wouldn't have missed much had I gone running during the second half, but I didn't. My hope was that I would be able to go afterwards during the Vikings game, but I also needed to do the grocery shopping. The schedule was just off from a typical Sunday ... plus I was extremely tired (almost missed most of the first half of the Packers because I couldn't keep my eyes open!) So, I chalked one up for the weekend and started to plan for the week ahead.
Generally speaking, I was happy with how the week and month started. I am not thrilled with how the weekend went. Hoping for some better results this week!
