Rounding Out Week 1

Last scheduled workout for the week was today.

Saturday's are my "Long Run" days.

So far, I have found I am not quite ready for the mileage in the training plan I am using; but wanted to at least have an appropriate workout.

All week, I found I ran into both a mental block and a physical block right around mile 2.

Leaving me curious to see how things would go today.

At a minimum, I wanted to do 3 miles.

Goal accomplished!

I did a quick 1/4 mile warm up. Then ran the rest of the 5K Loop option on the treadmill - so total running distance was just under 3 miles.

A couple of points of significance:
  • Ran faster than the suggested pace.
  • 3.1 miles is just under half of the distance I will be racing in April.

Feeling good ... feeling good!
