I am a bit behind in recapping last months goals. I am blaming it on the long weekend!
August was a fairly successful month for me ....
1. Run 125 miles. I ended with 110.92; while I did not quite reach my goal of 25 miles per week for the 125 total, I did increase my mileage from 85 in May (the last 5-week month) to 110.92 this month. That is pretty amazing to me, and shows how far I have come in just the last four months or so.
2. Lose 3.8 pounds. I had no idea what to expect after having two pretty good months in a row in June and July with regards to weight loss. While I yo-yo'ed some over the last week, I started the new month with a weigh-in of 165.4 pounds. That equals a loss of 3.4 pounds for August, and puts me down 28.2 pounds since January.
3. Schedule physical and eye appointments. I half met this goal. My physical is scheduled for mid-September. I have yet to schedule an eye doctor appointment. I know I need to, and I am sure I am procrastinating because I know it involves ordering contacts and spending money. Ugh.
4. Join the YMCA. I wanted to have joined the YMCA so that I could automatically know I will have no excuses to cut back on workouts as the weather changes and days grow shorter. It would also help me focus more on cross-training. I didn't join; for multiple reasons: 1)August was an expensive month with a lot of traveling. 2)I have decided September is not really that cold. 3) I am not quite ready to move my focus to cross training, and I will write more on that later. Joining the Y is still on my radar!
5. Do something for me. When I set this goal, I knew this month would be an easy month to meet this goal. I had my sister's wedding, which gave me many excuses to do girly stuff. I also had my birthday, which gave me a reason to spend some time and money on myself. Goal met!
