This week was a little bit better than the one before ...
Monday: completed 4.91 miles, but not in my best time (1:06:21). I actually walked a full mile as a warm-up, ran 3, then walked part of the way home as a cool down, too. A nice, solid effort to say the least.
Tuesday: I was all set to get to the cross training, and was super excited to get my bike out after ignoring it while training for the half all summer. Imagine my disappointment when the front tire was not only flat, but wouldn't hold any air at all. Bummer.
Wednesday: Thought about going out and doing my workout in the rain, but opted out of that one!
Thursday: Completed one of my first ever speed workouts! I warmed up by walking/running the first mile in about 15 minutes. That was followed by 4-half mile repeats. The current plan I am following called for 5:18 repeats; mine were completed in 4:40, 4:33, 3:36, and 4:45. I had quarter mile recovery periods between each one (probably took too long to complete those, but I will adjust that another day!). And finished with .92 miles in 10:58, for a total of 4.92 miles in approximately 58 minutes. Not a bad effort!
Friday: rest
Saturday: rest (switched with Sunday, as we had a garage sale)
Sunday: Chad ended up with plans in the morning, so I put my run off until afternoon. Which turned into laundry, cleaning, grocery shopping, etc. before I finally headed out for a run around 5:45. I completed 6.88 miles, but it was in 1:28:08. I was so frustrated throughout this run; I just never felt like I got into a good groove, found a consistent pace, etc. But, I mustered through.
Total mileage: 16.71 miles
Better than last week, but not where I wanted to be.
