Motivational Monday: 10.20.14

Seemed fitting after yesterday's race! Here is my race report!

----

New week. No specific training plan in place. Aside from any impromptu 5k or 10k races, my racing for 2014 is over. I don't plan on any double-digit races until spring! Crazy, but refreshing. My plan for the next couple of months will be to maintain a solid base, but to have fun and run when I want to while maintaining cross training. I have felt pretty burnt out on running and following a training plan lately, so I think this comes at a good time. And after yesterday's race, I feel better about taking time away from running knowing that the right cross training really will make you stronger and help your running. Mid-January, I will start a marathon training plan .... say, what!??!? Yeah, more on that later! :)
Here's the plan for this week:

Monday: Rest! I think I am going to feel Sunday's run, and rest sounds like the best plan!
Tuesday: Kickboxing and Interval Conditioning/kettle bells
Wednesday: I wanted to do TRX, but it is full. Maybe a shake-out run, maybe boot camp.
Thursday: Rest (conferences 4-8)
Friday: Cycle Box and some core work
Saturday: 6-8 miles (my goal during maintenance will be to do a 6-10 mile long run each weekend)
Sunday: Cycling/kettle bells/yoga (20/20/20 class)

Do you race year round or take some time off?
