Tuesday: planned Interval Conditioning; actual Interval Conditioning. Felt like a beast in this class! Right now the heaviest kettle bell they have is 18 pounds (they are ordering heavier ones), which I thought for sure were too heavy for me. After talking to my instructor last week about how I felt after working with KB and doing swings, she suggested I go up to the 18s. So I did! Nice confidence booster.
Wednesday: planned 7 miles, actual 5 miles. When a friend sent me a text to wander ShopKo with her, I couldn't say no! I got in 5 miles before taking advantage of being child free for the night and taking in some adult conversation! Final distance was 5.05 miles in 57:49 (11:27 average).
Thursday: planned 3 miles and Interval Conditioning; actual Interval Conditioning. I am such a sap when it comes to being away from my sweet girl. When I got home to see her, I just couldn't pull away again so soon. So, we wrote out Valentines, snuggled, and took our time changing into pajamas and putting lotion on. The first few sets of kettle bell swings after putting on lotion were interesting. We also had four sets of tabatas (if that is how you spell it) that included KB swings, skaters, floor jacks, burpees, plank elbows to knees, mountain climbers, jump lunges, and jump squats. Lots of ab work in between the sets of tabatas. Oh what fun it was.
Friday: planned Rest; actual rest. My mistake was asking an almost 4 year old if she wanted to go to the Y with Momma or play outside. I did spend about 15 minutes pulling her on the sled if that counts for anything.
Yes, she is most likely wearing her boots on the wrong feet. When I tell her she says, "But that's ok, Momma. Right?"
Saturday: planned 5 miles; actual 0 miles. Ugh. So, so disappointed with how today turned out. With Chad out of town, it was just a matter of trying to squeeze everything in. The day care at the Y opens at 8:30; as much as I tried to plan my morning out to be there right when it opened, once I factored in a one hour run, travel time, getting in and out, showering, etc. - I just didn't see us getting out the door to make it to our 11am baby shower. Would it have been different if Chad was home and I didn't have to account for both of us? No promises, but I would have had the afternoon to work with as well (day care hours only went until 1). So our day consisted of a baby shower, time at the library, an early supper date, Candy Land, popcorn and a movie, and falling asleep together in the living room. Yes, I had it in my head I could do Jillian Michaels in the living room after she fell asleep, I just can't help myself. We get too comfortable sometimes!
she loves the play time at the library as much as she does bringing the books home. her new thing is wanting to play the computer games; but she likes to try without help. it's a process.
she always wins.
Sunday: planned Boot Camp or swimming; actual 55 minutes strength/conditioning. Another day that I am not thrilled with myself over. I had decided I was going to go run 7 miles when Chad got home. As it would be, I was finishing up our taxes and paying bills when he got home. Part of it was I was just completely out of normal routine, and part of me had given up on the week. About 3:00, I decided I wasn't going to go run, but I was going to do some strength training at home. I combined the stability ball workout I did last week with the leg workout I posted about on Wednesday. I did 3 sets of each move. It didn't feel like much the first few reps, but the last few reps of each set were killers. While it was obviously not a cardio workout, let me assure you my legs were a little jello-wobbly afterwards! I don't know if it would have been a 55 minute workout, but I was doing a little coaching on the side ....
planks -
crunches -
hamstring curls -
scissor kicks -
she did a few more moves with me, but was done after the first set! :) Love her! <3
