The Rules:
1. You must link back to the person who nominated you
2. You must answer the questions given to you
3. You must pick ten bloggers to be nominated for the award
4. You must create ten questions for your nominees
5. You must notifiy the nominees
1. Why did you start blogging?
I initially got introduced to the blogging world when I had some time to work on my scrapbooks and other creative projects. I followed some craft blogs, scrap challenges, etc. It was also a fun way to keep a journal of sorts and let people keep up with what was going on in our world. My first blog was www.mrandmrssmith06.blogspot.com. Then I started this one. Now, I have everything here, and while it is mostly about running, it's also about life.
2. What is your favorite snack?
Well, what snacks don't I like? Ha. Daily, I usually pack some cheez-its and a Special K bar for an afternoon snack. As once in awhile indulgences, I would say my favorite is chips and dip. As summer nears (no matter how far away still), I am starting to crave a DQ Blizzard!

3. What is your favorite workout lately?
I would say I feel like a beast in my interval conditioning class when I am using the 20lb kettle bell to do swings.

4. How many hours per week do you spend training?
On average I would say it is about 4. I have had some higher weeks, and some not so good lower week. I would like to be right around 6 every week, but we all know sometimes life gets in the way.

5. When is your next race?
Saturday! Earth Day half-marathon.

6. What is the best advice you have received?
My mom will always tell me, "Follow your heart."

7. What is one thing you are proud of?
There is a lot I know I can be proud of; but I would say the number one thing I am proud of is being a mother. Ava is my world, even on the days I know I don't give her the patience or attention she deserves. I went to career day in 2nd grade dressed in my mom's clothes and carrying my baby doll. I wanted to be a mom! Through trial and heartache, that dream finally came true in May 2010. I am proud of that, and I am proud of her.

8. Are you a morning runner or night runner?
I am a night runner, but mainly because that is what works with our schedules. When Chad worked second shift and I had to go in the morning, I got it done then. I am not a morning person, but I do think I would prefer to run in the morning. It's just not an option for us, and sometimes things only seem greener on the other side so who knows if I would actually like it better!!

9. What is your favorite running distance?
I have only done 2, but I think half-marathons. I am enjoying training for a marathon, but it is a long distance and takes a lot of time. My first 20 mile run is going to fall the weekend of Ava's birthday. That is going to be so hard to get in! But I will earn my pizza at Chuck E. Cheese! I like the half because it is challenging without being overwhelming. Still, ask me again after June 21!

10. What do you love most about the blogging community?
The real life accounts of what works and what doesn't. It is easy to make things look how we want them to look on the internet, but I know I try to keep it real. And by wanting to keep it real, it holds me accountable and makes me feel bad when it doesn't work out that way. Still, I don't fib about it, and I appreciate other bloggers who truly share their experiences with the rest of us. It gives me the opportunity to learn from others about what works, what doesn't, and get new workout ideas.
So now to award my own Liebster awards! I nominate: Christy at Christy Runs, Katie at Runs for Cookies, The Hungry Runner Girl, Shut Up and Run, Neon is My Color. I know it is not 10 nominations; but it is 5 bloggers I enjoy keeping up with! I hope you each will take the time to answer the questions! :)
And my questions for you are:
1. Who was your biggest role model as you first started running?
2. What is your best running memory?
3. The time you now spend running; what was it filled with before you started running?
4. What is your favorite TV show?
5. What is one habit you won't give up, even though you know it is not the healthiest?
6. If you could have lunch with someone famous, who would you pick?
7. What is your favorite season for running?
8. Describe the one route you would be okay running over and over for the rest of your life.
9. If time and money were not object, where would you choose to go on vacation?
10. What is your favorite past time other than lacing up the running shoes?
