Not a stellar week ... sound familiar? Story of my life lately.
Monday (Memorial Day): It was the end of a long weekend, I was just starting to be over whatever I had that was giving me the cold and fever symptoms, and had a bit of unpacking to do. My intention was to head out for a run, even a short one. Ultimately, the day just got away from me. I remember being dressed and telling Chad I wanted to head out for a run; and then as we got occupied on something at the house he looked at me and asked if I was going running. I am pretty sure I snapped slightly replying I would just wait until Tuesday.
Tuesday: I got to the Y with just enough time to get in a little over a mile before Interval Conditioning. Ii would have been nice to get in a bit of a longer run, but after not having ran for over a week due to being sick and moving, it was a nice reintroduction. It was way more humid than I realized before I started running! Finished 1.17 miles in 13:12. The best part of IC class was she really pushed us to do a rack into an overhead press with our heaviest kettle bell. I didn't get the number of reps she wanted us to; but she was also having us focus on fewer reps but heavier weight. I am just impressed I was pressing a 20lb kettle bell!
Wednesday: I got out and did 5.01 miles in 57:47. Not as fast as I would have liked at a 11:32 average, but overall I can't complain. As usual, mile 2 was my fastest, until I pushed myself on mile 5 to beat that time. I did it by one second! :)
Thursday: Chad and I took Ava to the park, and then I left from the park to run to the Y for IC class. I then looped around the block at the Y to get an even 2.00 miles before class; it wasn't fast at 24:15, but I did reserve a little bit to have the energy I needed for class. She was on a burpee kick - which always thrills me - but as usual a good class! Our new house is much closer than I realized it was to the Y. It was just a 1.20 mile run home, which I did in 15:16. Overall, a good night of working out.
Friday: Rest
Saturday: I intended to run a long run but also had mixed feelings about knowing I was going to be sharing paths with a half-marathon going on in town. I seriously thought about running the half, but also knew the last time I tried to incorporate a race into a long run I didn't finish my long run. Now I wish I would have just ran the half and called it good, but I didn't. Rather than interfere with the event, I did my laundry, cleaned the kitchen, hung blinds, etc. With the intent of running 20 on Sunday.
Sunday: As I was getting ready to run in the morning, the skies opened up! :( When Chad told me it was raining, I was in disbelief. I had just looked at the radar and it looked like the rain was going to miss us! It cleared up and got hot - as I was dressing to leave, I thought to myself that it was probably dumb to head out when I knew the temperature was going to continue to rise and the sun was the hottest. I asked Chad - which is not always a good idea - if I should go when the sun was hot or wait until later in the afternoon. He convinced me to wait ... and around 1:30 in the afternoon, the rain came back. And it rained on and off for the rest of the afternoon. And I don't mean just rain. Thunder, lightening, the works. There were tornado warnings, thunderstorm warnings, and flash flood warnings all around us. On one hand I was mad I didn't go out earlier. On the other hand, I was glad I wasn't 2 1/2 hours into a run when the weather started. Frustrated? Absolutely, but it is what it is. And what will be, will be!

Totals:
9.3 miles of running in 1:50:30
2 Interval Conditioning classes for 80 minutes
Total Training Time: 3:10:30

Low mileage, but not the worst week for consistency. Baby steps at this point.
On a side note, I've been using my Garmin more often instead of my Nike app. Mainly because I can't find my arm band for my phone and know my phone won't work for really long runs (the battery is nearly dead by the end of half-marathon). However, I was having issues with getting my data to load hence no splits to share. Any ideas what the issue might be? Hopefully, it's not that I reset it after my runs? Thankfully, I put the final stats into Nike manually.
