Not the best 4 days I could have had ...
Thursday 6/12: This is actually the only day of the four that I worked out. And I did it well. For the next 8 Thursdays (well, now 7) Ava has gym and swim at the Y. Since it is a combo gymnastics/swimming class, it goes longer than other classes would. While I could just sit and watch her - and I love doing that! - I can also use that time to get in a workout! So - I checked out the class schedule and noticed there is a 30 minute HIIT (high intensity interval training) class in the middle of Ava's class. Perfect. I headed up and didn't know if they had transitioned from the previous class or not; when I asked someone coming out she said it was kickboxing. This made me nervous since you typically have to sign up for kickboxing and that was not what was on the schedule! I figured it out soon enough - for the HIIT class, she does a different activity each week. This week did happen to be kickboxing, and no I did not need to be signed up. I loved it! Next week is kettle bells. I think it'll be a good fit! (especially since I hope to do some two-a-days throughout the summer, this will be a good way to get at least one in a week!)
Later, I ran - a little out of my way to get the distance - to the Y for my usual interval training/kettle bell class. It took me 24:25 to run 2.24 miles there (10:54 average), I completed the 40 minute class (which oddly enough she utilized the kickboxing bags!), and then ran/walked the 1.20 miles home in 15:36 (13:00 average).
It was a great day that included 3.44 miles of running in 40:01 and 70 minute of classes; for a total of 1:50:01.

The rest of the "weekend" - let it be known that I was very confused Friday, Saturday, and Sunday about which day it was after a week away, trying to get used to summer schedule and not working, and having Chad home all three of those days while already confused! Chad never works Fridays, so that will be typical, it just didn't help me get organized!
Anyway.
The rest of the week, was spent doing laundry and cleaning I was behind on from being gone, running errands, getting ready to host a gathering with a group of ladies and friends I worked with over the last three years, and celebrating Father's Day. Whenever I thought I was going to get a run in, something else came up. For example, I though I would run Friday morning, but Chad insisted we get to a garage sale as soon as we could. (We got a small TV for our back living room until we can more easily afford a newer, slightly larger one). Then I was for sure going to get out Saturday morning, but didn't wake up feeling it. I knew it wasn't supposed to rain until later, but it was windy and cloudy from the get go. Plus, I just had the urge to clean! And it felt good to get that done! I wasn't going to run Sunday, because it was supposed to rain most of the day. When it didn't, I just couldn't wrap my head around getting a run in! So, I didn't. Do I feel guilty? Yes. Do I feel like I still got a lot done and had a great weekend? Yes! Chad, Ava, myself, and even Max did go for a mile and a half bike ride/walk. Ava biked, the rest of us walked. I was so proud watching her bike that far. She did great.

It is what it is. However, after our gathering last night (which included too much food and a bottle of wine) and a Dairy Queen lunch in honor of Father's Day - I am motivated to find more days like Thursday in my near future!
