Sorry for the lack of posts this week. As you will see, life got the best of me this week. After two strong weeks despite the transition of going back to work, this week it caught up to me. It was a harsh reality check that I can't work full time, maintain my house, spend time with my daughter, write blog posts, and workout 5+ hours over the course of the week. Whew. Of course I want to be able to do it all, but you have to choose your battles. This week I chose to try and slow down a little and reset my mental game.

Monday - planned 6 miles and TRX (rain back up plan - TRX and boot camp). Actual TRX and a slow 5.62 miles. My legs were heavy after Sunday's log run, but I made myself do a loop starting and ending at the Y after TRX. I wasn't shocked when the run started slow, but I was hoping for a better ending. What really stunk was that by the end I was looser than when I had started, but I really needed to go to the bathroom! Walking put less jiggle in my bladder, so I walked more towards the end than ran. If only there would have been a convenient place to stop.
Tuesday - planned and actual - kickboxing and Interval Conditioning (kettle bells). Before IC started I mentioned to Debra that we hadn't done a pyramid in awhile. Well, ask and you shall receive. While I had something like 20 swings, 10 pushups, 20 swings, 9 pushups, etc. in mind, she had something a little more intense in mind. We started with a minute of swings, then a minute of mountain climber. :45 of swings, :45 of mountain climber, :30 of each, and finally :15 seconds. Then we went back up! But she changed mountain climbers to burpees! It was intense, but I guess that's what I look for, right?
Wednesday - planned - TRX and 8x400 speed session! Actual - nothing. The 5:00 TRX is getting harder and harder to get to with work getting busy. Even with prep at the end of the day, I feel like I have a never-ending to-do list at the end of the day. I'm going to keep planning it in, and hoping I can get a good routine down at school, but it is possible TRX will have to go. I got home with Ava about 4:50, ate supper, and changed for a run. But I just didn't have it in me. I was exhausted. So, I grabbed my lesson planning stuff, got Ava in the tub and worked in the hallway while she played. Read to her and snuggled her. I showered and went to bed just an hour later!
Thursday - planned and actual - Rest. Ava had dance, and we went to FACT night at pre-school. It was fun, but with it going until 7:00 a workout just wasn't happening.
Friday - planned - Cycle Box and core. Actual - rest. Why? Not by my doing! I got a voice mail mid-afternoon saying cycle box had to be cancelled! :( I didn't want to run because I intended to do my long run Saturday morning. So, I worked on lesson plans at school until 5:30. On a Friday. Bummer.
Saturday - planned 12 miles. Really disappointed that I didn't get this done. I wanted to go right after breakfast. I had no idea we were supposed to get thunderstorms. Trying to not waste time, I started picking up the house, paid some bills, etc. By the time it cleared up, I was just not in my routine. I was pretty disappointed with myself, especially after the long run I had last week and with the fact that the afternoon was beautiful (until about 6 when another line of storms came through!).
Sunday - planned and actual - cross training at Y. I went to the new class that is 20 minutes cycling, 20 minutes kettle bells, and 20 minutes yoga. I liked the combination and enjoyed the class. I wanted to get a run in with it, but also needed to give my house a good cleaning, pack my lunches, get Ava in the bath, etc. etc. etc. -- I did what I had planned and decided not to put the extra expectation on myself.

Totals:
just 5.62 miles of running
3 fitness classes
4:04:40 total time training
Hoping for a rebound this next week. At least the forecast looks to be in my favor thus far.
