At any rate; here's how the week played out.
Monday: planned - 6 miles and TRX. Actual - 6.3 miles (split into two runs; 1.2 miles to the Y, and 5.1 miles after TRX) and, obviously, TRX. The run to the Y was slow and sort of uncomfortable. It took me 14 minutes to get there! I've mentioned it previously, but mile 1 has been terrible all summer! My run after TRX was only a little better. Obviously throwing in strength work and then trying to run leaves you feeling a little bit tired and heavy. TRX was good though; thankfully it did feel more upper-body focused so the run wasn't too terrible. I am looking forward to more TRX after the Y's cleaning week. Though I will need to figure out how to incorporate it in when it falls on Mon/Wed nights, which are also my running nights.
Tuesday: planned and actual - Kickboxing and Interval Conditioning/kettle bells. The two times I've doubled up these classes, they've been a good match. I really liked IC tonight; it was similar to a class she led a few weeks ago, and was endurance based. We did 1 minute intervals of a variety of exercises and swings. In my opinion, it is not that hardest class she leads, but you still get a good workout!
Wednesday: planned - 6x400; actual - just a round of golf (and we use a cart, so no walking involved)! I didn't get up to run in the morning, even though Ava wasn't home and I didn't have to be at work until 12. Such a shame; I know. In the evening, Chad and I went to play a round of golf to celebrate my birthday, which was Tuesday. I hadn't had my clubs out for probably two years, so it was fun! Frustrating at times, but fun! Also, an easy was check off one of four fun dates for my 34 goals!
this guy joined us on hole 8. woodchuck? ground hog? We had no idea!
Thursday: I planned to go to 5:15am cycling. I knew I had staff development from 8-3, and we were leaving for my in-laws right after. This plan was my attempt to still get my workout in. In reality, I should've known that getting myself to a 5:15 class was going to be harder than I even imagined. I am not a morning person! I don't have to be, because Chad goes to work so early morning workouts aren't an option. So another unplanned rest day it was.
Friday: While typically a rest day, I was planning to move Sunday's run to today and get in some miles in my husband's hometown before we left for the cabin. What I didn't expect was for Ava and I to sleep until 8, with plans to leave around 9. Chad would've hated me if I made us leave late. He loves this weekend, and the time we get at the cabin and on the 4-wheelers! So - I thought maybe I'd run up at the cabin/at the nearby state park. Then again, I knew running those hills on Friday would mean no long run on them on Saturday. Chalk one up for the cabin; no run happened today.
Saturday: Planned - 10 miles. Actual - 4.06 miles. I had scratched the idea of 10 miles when I didn't leave the trail head until after 9. I mean, after all, I had four people waiting on me for an afternoon of riding 4-wheeler! Once I got started, I figured I would run three out, and three back on the bike trail. Driving in, I saw signs about the bike trail being closed, but tried not to think too much about it (I almost just decided not to run if the trail was closed, that's how the "old" me thinks!). Two miles in and the trail was blocked with orange fencing! I turned around and made myself be satisfied with what I did do.
Itasca State Park - where I went to run! We've vacationed here before, but now I can't wait to go there with our camper! Too bad it's a 6 hour drive!
ducklings at the beach! Did some walking around when I wasn't running!
Sunday: Planned - Rest. Even if I wanted to make up a missed workout, I think we are far enough into our summer of traveling that we all know after a fun-filled weekend with a long ride home, it wasn't going to happen.

So -
two runs for 10.36 miles
three group fitness classes
3:59:19 - total time training
Two low mileage weeks in the midst of half-marathon training. Not ideal, but not the end of the world. Right? How did your week go? Are you staying consistent, or enjoying summer?
