Good Riddance, November!

I am not sad to see November go. I am not usually one to wish away time, but November was tough! It was busy. I was emotional. I've been stressed. I don't feel like I ever got my bearings in November, and I am starting December bogged down. However, I am really hoping to kick the negative and get stuff done. New month, new perspective.

Here we go, again!

I've decided to set a new goal for December. When the school year started, I was doing really well at drinking my water. October and. especially. November it seemed harder and harder to drink even close to enough. I wasn't substituting it with more pop (well, most days I wasn't) but was still lucky to drink even one bottle many days. Yesterday morning I was especially thirsty, and drank one full bottle even before lunch. I decided I should strive to get at least two bottles in per day for the month of December, so that's my goal. I think the water bottle I bring to work with me is 18oz, so two of them is still only 36oz, but it is a good starting point. In addition to feeling better, maybe upping my water intake will help kick start some weight loss, too.

In other news, we started out Christmas countdown today, and I pulled all the Christmas books out! We have one excited girl - both for Christmas and the new reading material!

Tonight's workout was kettle bells! After a warm-up we went into our WOD (work out of the day, yes I am borrowing cross fit verbiage!). Round one we did 10 warm-ups per side (yes, that is what she called them), 12 goblet squats, 12 rows per side, 20 kettle bell swings, then 20 slow mountain climbers. The warm-ups were holding our kettle bells overhead in lock out position, stepping back with the same leg, bringing your other leg down to kneeling, then getting back up. They were not easy! Round two was 8 warm-ups, 14 goblet squats, 12 rows, 25 swings, 50 slow mountain climbers; and finally, round three was 6 warm-ups, 16 goblet squats, 12 rows, 30 swings, and 10 figure 8 mountain climbers. (those were new to me, too!) Then, we ended with a finisher - cleans and presses. 3 per side, 6 per side, 9 per side, and 12 per side. A little bit of ab work, some stretching, and we were done!

Hope you have a better December! I have a hard time remembering to drink enough water in the winter too, especially at work.
