My monthly list of randomness ....

.so glad the session of summer school I was teaching is over! I am more than ready for a break, to spend extra time with Ava, and to get my house in order.

.relieved that we are home this weekend after traveling four weekends in a row.

.found a fun, new to me website, from a link on this blog. Go For A Run has tons of cool things. Seriously, I could spend a lot of money on this site, I think.

.excited that it sounds like our friends are going to bring their kayaks when we go camping next weekend. I've never been kayaking, though I have been in a canoe once or twice. Hope I can paddle okay!

.heard that a book series I like, and have only read the first three (I think) of, is getting ready for the release of book seven! Must mean I need to get reading.

.officially signed up for my "comeback" race. Did I share that already? I know I've talked about a tentative plan for fall races, but wasn't sure if I shared I was actually registered. Anyway. August 29 is the Women Rock series. I am running the 10k this year. Ava and I are also doing the 2.5k Friday night as well.

.did a load of laundry Wednesday night for the sole fact that I needed clean sports bras in order to workout on Thursday! Does that mean I need to do laundry more often or go shopping for new sports bras? :)

.annoyed that a task I literally put off for like two months ended up taking me less than an hour to complete - it was organizing some medical bills and making some payments. I guess that explains why I put it off for so long, huh?

.we've been using a sticker chart to reward Ava for doing what we ask and acting appropriately in different situations, not that she is a huge behavior concern but around just us she has a tendency to push limits and thrown tantrums. When she fills up a chart, she gets to pick a prize, a treat, or something we go do as a family. We should get to do something fun this weekend! The part that we need to do more of is taking stickers away when she is not doing what is expected! She loves earning stickers, but tests to see if she will really have a consequence.

.finished my application to finish my Master's degree in Special Education through the University of Minnesota - Moorhead. That was actually over a week ago; now I am waiting for the decision. Assuming I will be accepted, I am dreading the process of filling out the FAFSA. Right now I have my bachelors in Community Psychology, and roughly 30 graduate credits in SPED, that were necessary to get my license. It only makes sense to finish the degree!
