That about sums up my workout this morning.
Kept it fun and easy.
I did my own little circuit training.
The bike I use has a "warm-up" program, which is 7 minutes.
I started there.
Then went into the weights. Focused on abs and arms.
Went back to the bike for 7 more minutes.
Back to weights where I did more abs and some lower body.
A third "cycle" (no pun intended!) of 7 more minutes on the bike.
And finally, a few more crunches, a few more arm exercises, and some stretching.
The whole things took me just over an hour.
I completed a total of 4.3 miles on the bike.
There are a few things I could change if I do this workout again:
I could make it a true circuit - repeating the same strength training exercises each time.
OR
I could focus on just one area each time through (abs circuit 1, arms circuit 2, legs circuit 3)
ALSO
If I had more time, I could do longer stretches of cardio, and maybe longer stretches of strength.
These adaptations I think would make the workout a bit more effective.
But, when all is said and done, I feel good about this mornings workout.
And, my shins are feeling rested.
Here's to tomorrow's REST!
