Out of Sync

I took my rest day Friday as planned. But since then, I've been slightly out of sync.

I planned to do 6 miles on Saturday. I got up and was getting my gym bag packed. I was also trying to pack for our day trip out of town. Throw in the company we had overnight, and, well, things were just taking longer than anticipated. I knew approximately how much time I needed, and it got to the point where I just decided I would run on Sunday. I went on with getting ready to leave.

Imagine my disappointment when I found out the party we were headed to got postponed until Sunday. My loves to plan and loves habit side, was quite frustrated. And while I thoroughly enjoyed our extra time with friends, I was just thrown off.

Now, I realize I could have gone for my run later in the day on Saturday. But I had hit that point of being so thrown off, it seemed more stressful to try to get back on track. Have you experienced that before?

Sunday we headed to the fore mentioned postponed party. We had a great afternoon with family, and got back to town around 5.

Again, I probably could have headed out for a run. There are 3 main reasons this didn't happen: 1- sick and/or teething baby. 2- husband affected by allergic reaction to cat and onset of cold/flu going around. 3 - habit says Sunday nights are for finishing chores and getting ready for the week ahead.

With Sunday night's routine done, my gym bag was packed and my alarm set. But all I could think about this morning at 5:30 was the baby that cried at 5:00, the husband who'd been tossing and turning, and an extra hour of sleep.

So, here we are.

After two solid weeks - I now find myself a little out of sync.

I have no doubt I will get back on track. It's just a matter of when.

Depending on how C & A are feeling, I just might head out tonight. If not, tomorrow morning I have a date at the gym!
