Routines

I am kind of a creature of habit.
Sometimes this works in my favor.
Sometimes it doesn't.

Starting March 21, Chad is starting a position where he will work 1 week on days followed by one week of evenings.
We already have it figured out how we will arrange drop off and pick up for day care.
I've also figured out when Chad is on 1st, I will work out after work. When he is on 2nd, I will work out in the morning (which I have come to like!)

So, while it will be an ever changing routine, there will still be a routine.
I am not too worried about that ... yet.
Not that I think it is going to be easy.
I anticipate having to not let myself stay up too late when he's on 2nd.
And not letting myself sleep too long (that whole extra hour) when he's on 1st.
But until I wrote that, I hadn't thought about those pieces too much.

What I have been thinking about is how it is going to affect my workouts.
I like that I know exactly what I need to do to fuel a morning workout.
In the afternoon, I feel like I have to plan for it - to be hydrated, not too hungry, not too full, etc.
Not to mention I am usually more sluggish at that point in the day anyway.

So - I leave you with these questions - should you feel to share any insight.
  • Do you workout at the same time everyday or does it vary?
  • How do you plan for workouts that occur at different times?
  • Do you feel like the time change affects the quality of your workout?
  • Am I over thinking this?
